Head and Neck Surgical Oncology

Overview

The Division of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology serves as the driving force in the multi-specialty approach to the treatment of head and neck cancer, which also includes medical oncology, radiation oncology, neurological surgery, dermatology, endocrinology, plastic/reconstructive surgery, speech and language pathology, oral surgery, and anaplastology. This close collaboration not only improves standard treatment options but also provide patients access to state of the art organ-sparing management options. Combined chemoradiation therapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy have in part been developed at VCU Health and are extensively utilized treatment options.
